PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
Just off the iconic Nannup – Balingup Tourist Drive, just 9km from Nannup.
Cliches diminish the inherent peacefulness and beauty that this property provides, however, suffice to say that this 40-hectare property possesses spectacular hills and valleys, a house site with mouth-watering views across the valley, a dam which held water all through the dry summer of 2023/24, plus frontage to the Blackwood River Reserve.
The Blackwood River, the greatest of the rivers in the lower South West provides a white-water canoeing experience at your boundary, with the Bridgetown to Nannup section being a favourite amongst adventurers.
There is a semi-cleared building site at the top of the hill, with superb views out over the surrounding farmland and forest. There is a glimpse of the Blackwood River, which as timber harvesting takes place could be further exploited.
The current plantation and silvicultural regime give rise for a timber resource to be exploited, but at the same time to thin in such a way as to let the superior trees grow into higher value and more picturesque stands, as they mature. This would further give rise to the creation of a more parkland environment, where some light grazing could be undertaken in an agro/forestry manner.
The old logging tracks, whilst overgrown could easily be re-established to gain access to all the various parts of the property, where the numerous breath-taking panoramas are as rewarding to take time to admire, as they are necessary places to catch your breath!
Few properties combine such an exceptional level of natural beauty, as well as the potential for a working forest to actually produce building products in such a propitious manner.
Forester, conservationist, hermit, naturalist, canoeist or bushwalker…… it is one to inspect, so bring your hiking boots.
Lot 24 is a property to be used and managed, as well as to enjoy the magnificence of nature. Whether for recreation, mountain biking, hiking or simply walking the banks of the Blackwood, the options are yours. It offers so much more than just being a beautiful place to be. Some images supplied are elevated views taken from the block, and some are of surrounding areas and landmarks.
Peace and tranquillity are implied, given the remote nature of the block, yet access to some of the regions’ most attractive tourist towns like Nannup, Balingup and Bridgetown are like spokes coming off the centre of a wheel, due to the location of this block.
